"In every colony of Kharkiv - a little "russian world'"

To the attention of the media, law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, human rights defenders, and international human rights organizations!

Throughout the week, the International Human Rights Organization UnMode has been receiving reports from Kharkiv corrective colonies - No. 25, No. 43, and No. 100. All these reports testify to the cruelty and inhuman treatment by local administrations and the open support of russia by the local administration.

We are engaged in collecting and registering appeals directly from correctional colonies, but often people cannot speak openly due to fears of consequences or possible eavesdropping. Almost every day, we receive appeals from those who are currently in Kharkiv colonies. Despite the real threat to their lives, these individuals can no longer remain silent. For instance, one of the callers announced a hunger strike due to the systematic abuse by the administration, endless extortion, and bribes that he refuses to pay - now the man fears that he could be killed for this.

Furthermore, we notice a common thread in all these appeals: everyone who contacts us from Kharkiv corrective colonies No. 25, No. 43, and No. 100 claims that the local administration openly supports russia.

"I was fortunate to lose consciousness when they were beating me"

Recently, Merab K. (61 years old), who was released from Colony No. 43, approached us, having survived the horrors that are taking place in Kharkiv Colony No. 25. He intends to raise this issue before Ukrainian and international human rights organizations, telling about torture, brutal beatings, denial of access to medical treatment, the use of SHIZO as punishment, systematic psychological violence, and corruption. He is now willing to openly name names and describe human rights violations. On behalf of UnMode, we have filed a complaint with the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine regarding Merab's case and others who have approached us and are still in colonies. We call on the media, law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, human rights defenders, and international human rights organizations to publicize the situation in Kharkiv colonies and hold all responsible parties accountable!
