Welcome to the free world! New group of Ukrainian ex-prisoners in Georgia

Welcome to the free world! These are the words with which we greet the young people brought to the border of Georgia from the prisons of russia.

Just a few days ago, the UnMode team welcomed yet another group of seven former Ukrainian prisoners forcibly taken out by russian special services from the penitentiaries in the occupied Kherson region in autumn 2022.

Currently, the entire new group is in a safe place, where they can recover and plan their next steps. UnMode specialists provide informational support to these ex-Ukrainian prisoners, assisting them with documentation, communication with the Ukrainian Embassy in Georgia, document translation, and humanitarian aid.

We feel genuine joy knowing that our efforts are helping to rebuild lives and restore freedom for these individuals. It's an important mission, and we take pride in standing alongside these people on their journey to a new life.

????Background: During the period from October 22nd to November 6th, over 2500 Ukrainian citizens were illegally transported from Colony No. 7 in the Kherson region to the territory of russia through Crimea by russian occupying authorities. After serving their sentences, the former Ukrainian prisoners are transferred indefinitely to the Temporary Detention Centers for Foreign Citizens (ЦВСИГи) located throughout russia, as per the court's decision.

UnMode continues to support Ukrainians imprisoned in russia and is seeking resources to help each one of them return home. It may seem impossible, but we firmly believe in the power of civil society and the force of goodness. Goodness always prevails over any evil.
