A brief update on the story of the 6 Ukrainian ex-prisoners we previously reported about:
Today, the entire group of Ukrainians was officially allowed to cross the border and enter the territory of Georgia. Border officials did not provide any additional conditions or explanations.
What's happening now:
We are taking the guys to a safe location - after spending over a week in the open buffer zone between the two borders, the guys are in need of a hot shower and food. We're taking a break, but in just a few days, we will be ready to assist any interested media outlets in organizing interviews.
In the meantime, our whole team is celebrating that our persistence, the power of our voice, and the extensive work done by many individuals and organizations have finally yielded results. Gamardjoba, Georgia!
We also want to acknowledge a range of organizations that provided help in various ways - from official appeals at the highest levels to humanitarian assistance for the guys at the border!
