UnMode at the rally

In the center of Tbilisi, a mass action “home to Europe” was held, in which members of UnMode took part. More than 15,000 people marched from the Parliament to Europe Square to demonstrate the European aspirations of the Georgian people.

More than 15,000 protesters occupied the entire one and a half kilometer Rustaveli Avenue. The slogan “Home to Europe” was periodically heard from the podium – all the celebrities who joined the action ended their speeches. In addition, MEPs from Lithuania, Poland and the Czech Republic addressed the assembled protesters in the recording on large screens. Already when it was dark and the column, consisting almost entirely of students, moved to Europe Square, the Shame movement distributed its manifesto through social networks. Youth leaders propose the creation of a National Council of the People’s Movement, which will bring together civil initiatives, NGOs, political parties, cultural and professional unions. The new movement will make demands to the government, and failure to do so can lead to mass disobedience.

Executive Director of UnMode Aidana Fedosik shared her impressions of participation in the campaign: “Unity and strength, wisdom and youth at the same time.

I traditionally attend such events because this is the best way to express support and respect for the Georgian people in the manifestation of the people’s will.
