In 2024, Unmode actively engaged in strategic cases related to the violation of prisoners' rights in Georgia, Ukraine, and Russia. The main focus was on cooperation with UN bodies (special procedures and special rapporteurs, submission of individual complaints), which allowed us to achieve significant results.
As a result of our work, recommendations were obtained for the immediate release and provision of adequate medical care for prisoners. In two cases, the courts made decisions in accordance with the UN recommendations, which is an important step towards improving the conditions of detention and ensuring the rights of prisoners.
