On June 19, 2022, a training seminar on financial management for members of the UnMode Board was held in Tbilisi, Georgia. As speakers, the seminar was attended, among other things, by employees of the financial service of the EPLN (European Prison Litigation Network). We are very grateful to our colleagues for the fact that UnMode can always get the help of a mentor in matters of financial management.
The tool “Humentum – A High Level Guide for Board Members and Senior Executives” was used as an application tool.
The seminar covered the following topics:
– seven principles of financial management;
– structure and management in NGOs;
– rights and obligations of members of the Management Board in matters of financial management of the Organization;
– Management of risks;
– how to read financial statements;
The final topic was the discussion of the financial policy and financial procedures of UnMode, their relationship with the international principles of financial management, issues of their application in the program activities of the Organization, the procedure and conditions for making changes.
All participants agreed that financial management is not an easy field to study. But without understanding the basics of financial management by members of the NGO Board, it is impossible to achieve sustainable development and achieve the goals of the Organization.
Similar events will be held in UnMode on a regular basis.
