It worked!
Dear friends and colleagues, we are hurry up to share the successful result of our case!
For the first time since the beginning of a full-scale war, Russia has fulfilled the recommendations of the UN Human Rights Committee and on December 16, the client of our Ivan Anoshkin, UnMode representative in Russia, will be released!
The end result of this case set a national precedent. We have done a lot of work and used all sorts of ways to achieve this solution and its implementation.
Briefly about the events leading up to Andrei's release:
The man has been conducted in the Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Citizens in Tolyatti for more than 7 months without medical assistance. The situation was aggravated by Andrey's complex diseases, including progressive HIV infection.
On October 16, UnMode, together with Dmitry Gurin (EPLN), we turned to the UN Human Rights Committee with a request to intervene immediately and provide recommendations on the transfer of Artemiev to a specialized hospital and release for deportation to Ukraine.
On October 20, the UN Human Rights Committee responded to a targeted appeal about the failure to provide medical assistance and passed a resolution to support urgent interim measures in this case.
The entire process of consideration and making recommendations took only 4 days!
“On December 8, a court was held to extend the period of Andrei’s detention in the Central Military and Health Center, during which we attached the decision of the UN Human Rights Committee and the conclusion of the infectious disease specialist on Andrei’s state of health. And the very next day, at the next court session, the prosecutor supported Artemiev’s position and asked to cancel the extension of the term of detention in the Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Citizens in Tolyatti, ”says Ivan Anoshkin.
